About

I believe that everyone needs acceptance, genuineness, and empathy. I want clients to reach their full potential by fostering an environment with these ingredients. I offer individualized support, identifying goals and barriers and discovering solutions to whatever challenges or complexities life presents. Change can be difficult to achieve when alone; hence, I am interested in providing accountability, curiosity, connection, and encouragement. In life, we move through different stages of development. We never stop growing and are never without challenges. Sometimes we find that what worked for us in the past no longer functions in the same way. We get stuck in repeating the same patterns of behavior that worked once but now hinder our growth. I work to accept and facilitate the natural change process so each person can fulfill their potential and live a satisfying life. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities that are tailored to each client’s personal needs. I specialize in individual and group therapy and am dedicated to finding the best mode of treatment for each client. I have experience working with diverse populations from different backgrounds, beliefs, sexual orientations, and nationalities. I am specifically equipped to offer psychodynamic methods and treatment for individuals working through difficult or emotionally complex events, unconscious motivations, and the impacts of the past on the present. Professional Andrew holds a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Drake University in Des Moines. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
